VISION

A European social model based on the principles of solidarity, equality, respect and democracy and the development of a society in which Civil Society Organisations are recognised in their mission of sevices providers;

A strong and committed civil society by, for instance, developing a forum for the expression of the civil society in between the main entities of the market and the main public entities; promoting a structured civil dialogue between the non-profit organisationsand the EU institutions and the right of the sector to be consulted on EU policies of interest to it;

A fair, tolerant, diversified, equitable and inclusive society promoting human dignity, sustainable development and citizen's participation.

MISSIONS

To voice the concerns of Civil Society Organisations, as key actors of civil dialogue and participatory democracy;

To develop capacities and expertise in our member organisations leading to our visions;

To build bridges between the EU and the national, regional and local levels through CEDAG membership

To preserve the independence of CEDAG towards public authorities by guaranteeing a sustainable funding of our network;

To promote a strong network by recruiting more member organisations which correspond to the definitions of our visions and values;

To develop the platform, while guaranteeing democratic intern work procedures;

To locate CEDAG right in the middle of the political action and institutional of the non-profit world in Europe;

To clearly underline possible convergences with other European networks working with comparable objectives, underlining CEDAG specificities.

VALUES

Cedag values are based on:

The freedom of association and the defence of the non-profit sector: its roles are to emphasize the specific value of the non-profit sector and its particular contribution to society; to promote the recognition of the non-profit sector at the European level, in particular its economic contribution, the disinterested and democratic management approach, the general interest character and the various people-oriented services the sector offers;

Democracy under all its facets and in particular the participatory democracy: to insist on the central position of the non-profit sector as well for the democratic value of society as for social cohesion in Europe;

A world for citizens: to put social inclusion, democracy and civil society development permanently on all European Agendas : European Union, Council of Europe, Barcelona Process (Union for the Mediterranean Sea).
