Social Economy Europe is one of the founding members of the European standing conference of cooperatives, mutual societies, associations and foundations. Social Economy Europe was set up in November 2000, and is the EU-level representative institution for the Social Economy.
It aims to give co-operatives, mutual societies, associations and foundations better visibility on issues which are common to them at a European level, with a view to strengthening their political and legal recognition and demonstrating the importance of the social economy structures in the economic and social life of Europe.
